Objects for tea

Objects for tea are not only vessels: they inscribe a gesture into matter. A teapot traces the path of water; a cup adjusts the distance between hand and lip; a tray organises the moment. At Hollin, these objects are understood as extensions of the gesture of tea. Simple forms, chosen for their precision rather than their ornament, shaped in materials that gently take on a patina - porcelain, stoneware, bamboo, wood. Teapots with old curves, cups close to the lip, discreet trays, matcha tools: each piece finds its place in a daily practice, without excess or display. We work with workshops that take time, so the object can in turn give time. A selection to compose freely, around a tea already known or a new attention given to the gesture.
