    About HOLLIN

Tea leaves and preparation gesture, the genesis of the HOLLIN house

    GENESIS

HOLLIN is an independent tea house founded in France. Tea is its point of departure.

We select leaves, flowers, fruits and spices to compose teas that are clear, balanced and free of added flavourings.

From this everyday material, HOLLIN develops an approach attentive to gesture, composition and time.

    A PRACTICE OF TEA

At HOLLIN, tea is part of a daily practice, composed of simple gestures and attention.

Each tea is selected for its clarity, its balance, and its ability to accompany naturally the rhythm of a day.

The house favours an artisanal approach to selection, blending and detail, in small batches whenever possible.

Objects and tea on a table, the world of the HOLLIN house

    A CONTEMPORARY HOUSE

Starting from tea, HOLLIN unfolds a universe of objects, images and gestures for the table: an encounter between East Asian cultures and the French art of living, conceived for everyday life.

ANOTHER WAY OF LIVING THE EVERYDAY

HOLLIN unfolds within a space of circulation between heritage and the present.

It proposes a way of living the everyday with greater attention.

A cup of tea becomes a point of departure, extended through an object, an image or a gesture.

The house is built slowly, starting from tea, through simple forms and uses designed to last.

FROM THE STAGE TO THE TEA HOUSE

I arrived in France in 2019 to complete my Doctorate (Artist Diploma) in classical music, and had the privilege of pursuing my passion as a soprano on the operatic stage. Classical singing is a discipline that demands absolute rigour, mastery of breath and a constant pursuit of excellence.

The birth of my daughter, Sia, profoundly changed my path. It awakened in me a visceral need to reconnect with what is essential and to share the richness of my Hunan roots.

I then chose to leave the performing arts to found HOLLIN, a contemporary tea house. The discipline and precision of classical music naturally shifted towards botany and the art of infusion. Our philosophy draws on the principle '好联' (the right connection): an absolute return to terroir, offering origin teas guaranteed without any added flavourings. Sharing this culture means approaching the preparation of a grand cru with the same presence, silence and attention to gesture as a stage performance.
